Warrane Formal Dinner with Dr Peter Hendy

Dr Peter Hendy is an economist with a PhD from the University of Canberra, in industrial relations and economic development. In 2002 he became the CEO of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry where he advocated for workplace relations improvements. He founded his own consulting company and was Chief of Staff to several government ministers and the Leader of the Opposition Brendan Nelson. At the 2013 Federal Election he was elected to the House of Representatives, holding the famous seat of Eden-Monaro. Later in that government under Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, he was Assistant Minister for Productivity,  Assistant Minister for Finance and Assistant Cabinet Secretary. After bowing out of politics in 2016 he became the government’s chief economist. Dr Hendy was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Governor General for service to Australian society in business leadership.
