Warrane College offers several scholarships to students applying to stay at the College.

Applicants can receive financial aid to make living in Sydney more achieveable, and each scholarship brings with it an onus on the successful applicant to contribute their talents to College life.

Rural students in particular are encouraged to apply.

The following scholarships are available to students applying for residency in 2024:

 

Rural Residential Scholarship

Specific selection criteria:

– The family home has been located in a rural area (one that falls under Remoteness Area (RA) 2 or higher) for at least the past three years

Amount of each scholarship: $8,000 / $5,000 / $4,000

Status: Open

 

Leadership Scholarships

There are countless opportunities for leadership and character growth in Warrane.

If you have had senior leadership positions in high school or in your community, you may be eligible for one our prestigious leadership scholarships.

Specific selection criteria include but are not limited to:

– Member of the school’s leadership team (including School Captain & Vice-Captain, House Captains and Prefects)

– Captains of representative sports teams

Amount of each scholarship: $8,000 / $5,000 / $4,000

Academic Achievement Residential Scholarships

Specific selection criteria:

– obtain an ATAR (or equivalent) of at least 99.00 (to be assessed after the release of HSC results)

Amount of each scholarship: $8,000 / $5,000 / $4,000

Status: Open

 

Community Service Residential Scholarship

Specific selection criteria:

– evidence of extensive community service involvement; and

– commitment to take part in the College’s community service initiatives

Amount of each scholarship: $5,000

Status: Open

 

Sporting Achievement Residential Scholarship

Specific selection criteria:

– representation in sport at a high level;

– evidence of leadership in sport; and

– ability to take part in the College’s sporting competitions

Amount of each scholarship: $5,000

Status: Open

 

Cultural Achievement Residential Scholarship

Specific selection criteria:

– attainment of a high grade (AMEB or equivalent) in one or more musical instruments;

– demonstrated performance experience in music, drama or other arts; and

– evidence of potential for leadership in cultural events

Amount of each scholarship: $5,000

Eligibility and general selection criteria

(for all scholarships):

Scholarship applicants must have already applied for accommodation at Warrane College. Applications must be made through the link at the top of the page.

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in 2024.

Applications are open to all students, regardless of age or citizenship.

The assessment of applications will take into consideration a student’s: admission interview; community involvement; and likelihood to contribute to the life of Warrane College.

All scholarships that are awarded are subject to review at the end of each academic term.

 

 

Bursaries and discounts for siblings

Some financial assistance is available to residents in the form of bursaries, covering a portion of College fees. These bursaries are intended to assist students whose financial situation may inhibit them from living in College. Requests for the bursary application can be made to dean@warrane.unsw.edu.au.

Residents who have a brother living at the College receive a 10% discount.

Scholarships, bursaries and discounts are awarded by way of crediting College fees.
