Degree for Dr V

Dr Vekram Sambasivam graduating from UNSW

5th floor senior tutor Vekram Sambasivam graduated this month from the medicine program at UNSW in characteristic style.

Vekram stayed at Warrane for the entire length of the 6 year program and was involved in all aspects of College life. He served as a residential tutor for four of the six years he was in College.

“I think university would have been a very different experience for me if I didn’t stay at Warrane” Vekram said.

“I have really benefitted from the home environment the College provides and the opportunity to mix with so many different people.”

The ultimate Collegian, Vekram was also very involved in other aspects of university life, including executive positions in the Australian Medical Students Association and presidency of the UNSW Medical Society.

“Vekram was always positive, and always reliable- a very difficult thing to maintain over such a long time” said College Dean, Arthur Escamilla.

Vekram will be starting work as an intern at Liverpool hospital in January 2012.
