44 Residents Receive Scholars Medals

A significant proportion of residents were presented with Scholars Medallions at the annual Presentation Dinner for College Scholars at Warrane on Wednesday 21 March 2012.

A total of 44 residents, out of 120 eligible, achieved an average of at least Distinction in 2011, making them eligible to receive the College Scholars Medallion.

“This result is a reflection of the hard work put in by the residents at Warrane last year” said Assistant Dean, Dr Timothy Shearer. “Hopefully, these students can keep up their efforts and encourage those around them, especially the first years.”

Three residents were acknowledged for receiving a UNSW Dean’s Award, namely:

  • Rohan Stocker: The Faculty of Engineering Dean’s Award (Stage II), for the second consecutive year
  • Waqar Rayani: The Australian School of Business Dean’s Award (Stage III), for the second consecutive year
  • Clement Li: The Australian School of Business Dean’s Award (Stage I)

At the dinner, the College also recognised the four residents who had been awarded residential scholarships for 2012. These were:

The Medallions were presented to the residents by Deputy Chancellor, Ms Jillian Segal AM, who spoke to the College after dinner in the Main Common Room.
