The world of corrective services – through the eyes of the commissioner

Peter Severin has been the Commissioner at Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) since September 2012. He came to the job with over three decades of extensive senior executive experience and knowledge in corrections.

After achieving a Masters of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Social Work, Mr Severin’s career started in Germany in 1980. It has seen him deal with contemporary correctional policy and significant infrastructure expansions. His past roles included working as the Chief Executive of the South Australian Department for Correctional Services for nearly 10 years; and as the Deputy Director General of the Queensland Department of Corrective Services for more than 15 years.
