Professor of Public Communication, Jim Macnamara this weeks guest at Warrane

Jim Macnamara has been a Professor of Public Communication at UTS since 2007. While there, he has conducted research projects for well-known groups such as the Australian Electoral Commission; the Victorian Government; the Cancer Institute NSW and more.
Prior to UTS, his distinguished 30-year career in professional communication practice spanned journalism, corporate and marketing communication, and media research, making him an internationally recognised researcher, author, and practitioner in evaluation of public communication.
He is the author of dozens of research reports, more than 200 academic and professional journal articles, and 16 books; and in 2016 he won two Gold and a Platinum Grand Prix award in the AMEC Global Effectiveness Awards for evaluation, demonstrating his expertise in best practice as well as academic research.
Other prominent roles for Jim include Visiting Professor at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in its Media and Communications Department in 2016; Chair of the Academic Advisory Group of the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC); Advisor on development of the UK Government Communication Service (GCS) Evaluation Framework in 2015; and Member of the US Task Force on Standardization of Communication Planning and Evaluation Models since 2015.
